Israel Ruiz is a first generation Hispanic. Through Israel’s unlikely journey to ordination we can clearly see the hand of our Lord. He was born in Lima, Peru to a family that was evangelized and discipled by MTW missionary Bob Woodson. Israel grew up in the church learning Reformed doctrine and serving his community. Israel met his wife, Marietta, in Peru during the six months she was there serving the Lord as a MTW missionary. Marietta returned to the USA to further her college education and obtained her second degree as a Spanish teacher. Israel and Marietta continued a long distance friendship and eventually Israel moved to the USA to marry Marietta. They settled in Central Illinois where the Lord called Israel to ministry. Angel Gomez is Cuban-American. He was born again while working in sales job for a real estate developer in Miami, FL. The owner of the real estate company was a member of a PCA church. He would close the company once a week during lunch and invite his pastor to lead a Bible study for all willing participants. The Holy Spirit opened Angel’s eyes to the riches of the gospel during that season of participating in weekly Bible studies at work. Click here to learn more.
